Honestly, if I had a new Mac and I got that kind of advice from an Apple representative, I'd demand a refund on the spot. In fact, it was Apple support that recommended I go to and download malwarebytes. And, just so you know, I did look for other discussions with the same problem, but didn't find any that quite fit my situation. This is my first discussion here so I will also appreciate any suggestions on how I could have improved my explanation. ![]() Has anyone else had this problem and solved it? If this were happening in background I wouldn't be as frustrated, but each new window/tab opens in front of everything else. Oh, and when I power up, Safari opens even though it isn't chosen in preferences. After searching for a fix, I scanned with Malwarebytes, cleared the history, and quit Safari, but Safari turned itself back on, and now has a total of three tabs, even though I haven't been using it. Sometimes I'm not even touching the keyboard or trackpad (at first I just thought I hadn't mastered the various gestures). I have a brand new MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.5 and Safari 8.0.8 and new, completely empty tabs keep opening on their own.
